Great start for me with the Blues beating the Crusaders, lets hope the rest of the season continues this way.

Simon 2nd February 2007 23:41

Yep, off to a good start...

Actually a perfect start with the highlanders winning 8 - 7 in Perth

oOo Dragon oOo 3rd February 2007 10:54

Dragoon :D

And even though I support Canterbury, it was very hard cheering the Blues last night ;)

Ezekiel 25:17 3rd February 2007 13:32

Good game last night. I'm a Blues fan but I've got to give it up for that young Canterbury 1st 5 - he had some skills, that chip and then pin point pass was very impressive. I quite like the reconditioning thing for the all blacks is giving some of these younger guys a chance to show what they are made of.

Flavell played a great game. Had a hand in lots of the action. That catch and pass to set up the try showed great skill. He looks hungry to try and get into that world cup squad. I thought the card was a bit harsh - but I guess it's just because it is Flavell - the 'bad boy' and that is really the problem, he doesn't really do that uch 'bad boy' stuff now days but he has got that rep so is watched closer. Notice that Devine (or was it Gibson?) was rucking the guy even further away from the ball and didn't even get talked to?

I wasn't sure about Isa in a first five. Don't get me wrong, I like him as a player, but I thought with Holwell in the team Isa should be at fullback. But he did play very well at first five last night and that chase down on Hamilton was gold!

Anyone catch the highlanders match? I can't really find a good write up on it.

Alternative to TelecomVR

If you are looking for an alternative that is a bit easier to play then check out the Pickem Pool competition at www.Rugby.net.nz.

You can create private or public groups.

All you have to do is pick the winners and rank your choices from 1-7 based on confidence.

A bit late now, the first weekend has already started. Will have to give it a miss.

OMG I bombed out so badly after the 1st 2 games getting 16 I think I only got the cheetahs game at the end of the round

Macca@Work 5th February 2007 10:28

13 points from round one..
the shock losses for me were the canes loosing to the reds
and the cruasaders getting done by the blues.

Rince 5th February 2007 12:25

thought I was going to have a shocker of a round, but 26 points isn't too bad for me ;)

chiQ 5th February 2007 20:03

I got 29, which doesn't make me want to boogie, but I guess it's not too bad :)

oOo Dragon oOo 5th February 2007 20:05

Seeing as most of the points were around that mark I wouldnt be totally upset by it. It'll only get tougher too. Though I don't think I'll be picking the canes for a few weeks

Madman 5th February 2007 22:20

I got 32 points, surprising because the two games I watched I picked the entirely wrong team to win :P

as a supporter, I find it hard NOT to pick them (ie how can I support a team and not back them week by week?)

gonna be tough

Simon 5th February 2007 23:34

Bloody Canes. Bloody Chiefs. Bloody Force. Gah.

Scumbag 6th February 2007 00:00

Me too. But being in the 21k out of 145k isn't a bad way to start the competition. I cant see the challenge, does anyone know who is leading?

Simon 6th February 2007 13:57

Looks like ZeroBC is starting 2007 in the same form as he had for 2006...

Puchu 6th February 2007 18:56

You have 32 points, and you're ranked in position 12,388 out of 145,805 players.

Damn I'm never going to get higher than that ever again

wugambino 8th February 2007 08:44

It's going to be a long season for us canes supporters :| the loss on friday was made worse by fucking greg clarke and co ...

We know you want to trounce your mates but chiQ is ahead of you on 29. Don't let chiQ beat you all season - head to http://www.telecomvirtualrugby.co.nz and use this chance to get ahead!

Ezekiel 25:17 10th February 2007 14:59

Damn the chiefs, I had them 12+ and it would have been right if they didn't blow all those tries!

BoyWonder 10th February 2007 22:12

Wow - could you do a worse attempt at a conversion Ward? Bastard.
