what a bunch of pessimists you guys are :D

Helen accomplished much
that is why National has adopted many of her policies.

it is repetitive mind rape
by the likes of David Farrar and co
which has numbed you
and dumbed you down
to ever lower expectations.

as an optimist, my expectations remain high:
i expect whatever government we have
to make NZ a better place

its time national got started

...and IT'S GONE.

Apparently the House voted 112 for repeal, 9 against. Given that the Greens are divorced from reality, that's effectively a unanimous vote.

You have no idea how relieved I am that that steaming turd has been removed from the laws of NZ. When it passed I said to myself "I'm never moving back to NZ while that law remains in place".

crocos 18th February 2009 00:47

Hey Simon: Are you moving back to NZ yet? :p

One fewer things stopping me.

It's really not so clear cut things are better in Oz for me.

I'd pay more income tax in Oz, but likely I'd have a higher nominal income paid in a more valuable currency.

Against this, I'd have to compete against hundreds in my niche field, verus about 20 here. And, in fact as one of the first in, there's not so much competition here really.

Australia is FULL of Australians.

Australian women are better looking, slimmer, more agreaable, and certainly dress more appropriately (on the 40C days). Circual Quay on a warm day is something special.

Lets see, thats 1 - 1 - 1 + 1 = 0. Looks like either country will do...

No it's 1 - 1 -1 + 5 = 4. I think I should move.

#75 Threatening to Move to Canada
Often times, white people get frustrated with the state of their country. They do not like the President, or Congress, or the health care system, or the illegal status of Marijuana. Whenever they are presented with a situation that seems unreasonable to them, their first instinct is to threaten to move to Canada.

For example, if you are watching TV with white people and there is a piece on the news about that they do not agree with, they are likely to declare “ok, that’s it, I’m moving to Canada.”

Though they will never actually move to Canada, the act of declaring that they are willing to undertake the journey is very symbolic in white culture. It shows that their dedication to their lifestyle and beliefs are so strong, that they would consider packing up their entire lives and moving to a country that is only slightly different to the one they live in now.

National MPs who railed against the Electoral Finance Act should feel very sheepish when they vote for this bill to become law. I suggest National Party members take advantage of end of year meetings to ask their MPs why they agreed to support limits on third parties using their own money to have a say during election campaigns.

Anyone looking at America has to be retarded to not realise that election spending alone can destroy a country. Our voters are not a single bit smarter than theirs, it really is a matter of how much shit you're exposed too.

This is a really serious issue that got caught up in the mass ignorance of society collective (and extraordinarily immature) political consciousness.

Anyhow, good on National for doing something, better than nothing.

Politics is like the crowning jewel on humans smug self defeating ignorance.

Yeah, I'm pretty fucking furious about this. But let's be honest - noone my age is going to be moving to NZ, that's crazy talk. Hell, I can't understand why people are STAYING in NZ.

Lightspeed 29th November 2010 19:55

Where else is there to go? Australia? Pffft.
