Here's the word from Jodi (with the occasional comment from yours truly):
Great turnout for the lan party. Around 20~25 people.

We had various servers up (tested airfist, superheros, servermods and camera patches) beside the normal deathmatch and CTF servers.

It was bloody humid (sweaty armpits).

Eveyone arrived around 12-1 pm and connect up, with a few teething problems (mostly with Win95 IPX setup - whats new?) and cabling up everyone.

HomeSweetHome had a PPRO 200 with that 3dfx card thing
(Spooge! - Ab.), everyone had a look at GLQUAKE at a frame rate better than 1.2fps on most systems. (shadows are ok, transpearent water is pretty cool, reflections rocked!)

At around 4pm I got server modules running (with floating camera) and recorded a DM demo on DM4 with a fraglimit of 75. LordValkristMuf came first.

If you want that demo (1MB zipped) then mail me.

Later that afternoon most people left (was that afternoon or night - lose track) and the 10 of us left decided to record some more demos.

Using a stationary camera we recorded 3 demos, in the first one we couldn't tell each other apart so we took another one - called fragclan.dem.
(Demos available for download: demos.zip - Ab.)

the players were:

Brown - Giblets|SKY
Light Blue/Yellow - Jodi|TIG
White/Yellow - Juju|TIG
Blue - KillerBee
Red/Green - BattleCat|ENZ
Light Blue/Green - Mike|ENZ
Purple - DaemoN|FJ
Cyan-green/Purple - Ash|FJ
White - Camera

The first demo we took Giblets led by about 5 frags, the second one we took he kicked everyone (got a few in the beginning I think)... the winner had the pleasure of doing a quad rocket gib to everyone in a group - GIBS! (kinda ironic that it was giblets :)

(Hehehe - I got some screenshots from Giblets - Ab.)

Giblets' gibs

the second demo is a bit of a joke - axe.dem - HAHA
(Demos available for download: demos.zip - Ab.)

Hey, no fair.
Giblets and Myself spent time and effort doing this thing and when we tallied up the money we only had $180 (ie 18 people paid) including ourselves. there were more than 20 computers running games here!

who didn't pay? we had to make up the difference out of our own money.
(thanks to the guys who chipped in some extra money. Much appreciated)

no fair :-(

lost and found

We had one 2m network cable (with white ends) left over, who's is it? HomeSweetHome lost his network card driver disk, who has it?

Overall the lan party was loads of fun.
Ash might be organising a laser strike game in ponsonby, auckland and simonX wants a game of paintball.

Next time we will have a competetion or something - with prizes even!
